COMMUNICATION OF SERIOUS DELAYS FOR MARITIME IMPORTS
We hereby inform you that ALL ships in transit, with material for deliveries confirmed in the months of January, February and early March are heavily delayed (20/22 days). As you already know, in the last 3/4 weeks shipping through the Red Sea has been seriously affected by armed attacks on cargo ships. More and more shipping companies are therefore avoiding this route and switching to the longer journey of 6,000 kilometers circumnavigating Africa. This situation is also causing major problems for loading ports as the return of empty containers, necessary for new shipments, has inevitably suffered long delays, generating shortages of them. To date, the only information that is communicated to us is the date on which the material is delivered to customs in China, after which there are no certain departure dates. While we cannot intervene on the delays in January, February and early March, we advise ALL CUSTOMERS with orders currently confirmed from mid-March to early April to evaluate air imports of which we must receive notification by January 16th. For the calculation of the cost of air import please contact [email protected] We apologize for this extraordinary situation dictated by force majeure. We will keep you posted!
